Serpens is a distinctive constellation, divided into two parts – Serpens Caput, the head, and Serpens Cauda, the tail, which together form a single entity. It portrays a large serpent coiled around Ophiuchus, who holds the snake’s body in his left hand and its tail in his right. Serpens, one of the original 48 Greek constellations, is intertwined in mythology with Ophiuchus, representing Asclepius, a renowned healer believed to have the power to resurrect the dead. In Greek legend, snakes symbolize renewal due to their shedding of skin.<\/p>\n
