This celestial formation, the most compact among the zodiac constellations and the second dimmest following Cancer, intertwines with Greek mythology through its association with the god Pan. According to the myth, Pan transformed his lower body into a fish to evade the sea monster Typhon. Consequently, the constellation portrays a goat with a fish’s tail.
