This celestial formation portrays the scorpion, which, according to Greek mythology, fatally stung Orion, coinciding with Orion’s descent as Scorpius ascends. While the term “Scorpio” is exclusively employed in astrology, its astronomical designation is Scorpius. Notably, Antares, the vibrant red supergiant within Scorpius, is the 16th brightest star in the night sky.
