Belonging to the zodiac, this constellation was initially perceived as the claws of Scorpius, the scorpion, evident in its brightest stars named to signify the northern and southern claw. Over two millennia ago, the Romans reimagined Libra, envisioning it as a set of scales. Presently, it is commonly depicted as the balance held by the neighbouring figure of Virgo, often recognized as the goddess of justice.
